Vonage Commercial
Vonage know the value of a strong advertising campaign and have produced a series of memorable television commercials. These Vonage Commercials are
very popular and well known throughout the US. The adverts all start with a funny clip of someone doing something stupid, for
example, one advert features a young boy swinging a baseball bat and losing his grip, launching the bat behind him into a
glass window. Another Vonage Commercial features a business man in a suit holding a phone walking into a water fountain in
a street and falling completely in.
Another advert includes a man chopping down a tree with a chain saw which then proceeds to
fall on top of his car resulting in it being crushed. Some of the more popular Vonage Commercials include a skier launching off a roof into the back
of a pick up truck while another shows a man on a snow mobile crashing at speed. After the humorous clip the adverts then go
on to say "People do stupid things!"... "Like pay too much for a phone service" and then continues to list
Vonage's credentials.
A Vonage spokesman said that the company "receives reels of footage from its advertising agency, Arnold, for
review from a variety of sources." One advert, for example, looks as if it comes from a videotape made in 1992.
The music from the Vonage Commercials is a well known catchy song that you can often catch people singing or humming. The song is
called "Woo Hoo" and is performed by a band named "The 5,6,7,8's". They are an all-girl group from Japan who first released the song on an
album in the early 1990's. More recently the same song from the Vonage Commercials can be heard in a scene from
Quentin Tarrantino's Kill Bill Vol.1.
